Jessie lleva el nombre de un caballo de la mamá de Hannah (AlaharranHonor), aunque el pelaje no se diseñó originalmente a partir de él. El archivo original se llamaba 12_m_talldarkhandsome. Se pensaba crear un grullo silver, pero la referencia resultó ser un frisón esquilado. El sol y el sudor pueden aclarar el pelo negro de esta raza hacia tonos castaños; eso explica en parte las zonas oxidadas del pelaje. Durante el desarrollo se le llamó Rusted Black, una expresión inventada por Hannah: el agua de su propiedad tenía tanto hierro que teñía de naranja el pelo de personas y animales, incluido Jessie.
El pelaje TD&H ha sido una montura recurrente de Hannah, dueña de SWEM, con el nombre Valley, y de Redzeal, integrante del equipo y creador de contenido, con el nombre Bo.

Jesse is named after a horse owned by Hannah's (AlaharranHonor) mom, although the coat was not originally intended to be modelled on him, in fact the original file name for the coat was 12_m_talldarkhandsome. Initially, the coat was supposed to be a Silver Grulla, but it turned out the reference was actually a clipped Friesian! The breed is very well known for becoming bleached through sun and the effect of sweat on a black coat, often resulting in widespread or localising fading to a dark bay colour, partially (see below) explaining the Jessie coat's striking rusty-tinged areas. Jessie may be referred to as a Rusted Black by those familiar with SWEM's development, which is not a technical term but one Hannah coined due to the high content of iron in the water on their property that resulted in people and animals (Jessie included) developing an orange tinge to their hair!
